Rescue, Love, Save

At the heart of the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus South West Bethel Synod (EECMY SWBS) lies a profound commitment to faith, compassion, and practical service. Rooted deeply in the Holy Scriptures and guided by the enduring creeds and teachings of the early church and reformers, our Synod embraces the call to love and serve our neighbors in every way possible. Today, we celebrate one such vital initiative: the building of a clean water server for our community.

Why Clean Water Matters

Access to clean water is a basic human right, essential not only for health but for the dignity and flourishing of every person. Unfortunately, many communities in the Bench Sheko, Kaffa, Sheka, and West Omo zones still struggle with limited access to safe drinking water. This shortage leads to numerous health challenges and hinders economic development and education.

Recognizing this urgent need, the South West Bethel Synod has taken deliberate steps to respond—not only through spiritual nourishment but through tangible acts of compassion and justice. Building a clean water server is a vital part of this mission.

The Vision Behind the Project

Our Synod operates with the guiding principle of “Unity in Diversity,” bringing together people of different backgrounds under a shared commitment to faith and service. This project embodies that vision by uniting church members, local leaders, and community volunteers to work toward a shared goal: providing reliable, clean water to all.

The water server project is more than infrastructure—it is an expression of God’s love and care made visible. It aligns perfectly with our Synod’s dedication to moral accountability and inclusive ministry, ensuring that no one is left behind in the journey toward improved living conditions and well-being.

Building Faith Through Service

The initiative reflects the deep theological foundation of the EECMY SWBS, which holds firmly to the authority of Scripture and the wisdom of the church’s historic creeds. Our faith calls us not only to preach salvation but to actively embody Christ’s teachings through acts of service.

By constructing a clean water server, we empower our local congregations to be agents of change. It reinforces our belief that spiritual growth and social development go hand in hand. Through these efforts, we strengthen our communities, affirming the dignity of every person and nurturing hope for a brighter future.

Join Us in This Mission

The clean water server project is a testament to the vibrant ministry of the South West Bethel Synod. It stands as an example of how faith communities can make a lasting impact in practical ways, advancing both spiritual and material well-being.

We invite everyone to learn more about our mission and to support this vital project in any way possible—whether through prayer, volunteering, or partnership. Together, with God’s guidance, we can bring clean water and hope to our communities, embodying the values of compassion, justice, and integrity that define the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus South West Bethel Synod.
